What does GigSky cost in South Korea?

There is no 20GB, 30GB or 50GB GigSky plan for Korea. The fixed ladder ends at 10GB; above that, GigSky's answer is Unlimited. For a big bucket, Yesim's 20GB at $27.96 or Airalo's 50GB at $49 is where to look. Hotspot sharing is unlimited, per GigSky's Korea page. Calls are not supported except through apps. Which Korean network does GigSky use?

SK Telecom and KT, both on 5G

GigSky's own plan data, the file its website loads for every country page, lists two Korean networks for its Korea eSIM: SK Telecom and KT, both marked 5G. The Korea page itself says the eSIM "automatically connects to the best available local network, with 5G, 4G, or LTE depending on the area."

That is a better answer than most brands give. SK Telecom is Opensignal's Best Network in Korea for December 2025, with a Coverage Experience score of 9.4 against KT's 9.1 and LG U+'s 8.6. KT is the only one of the three with maritime LTE reaching about 100 km offshore. GigSky does not say which of the two your phone will land on at a given moment, so plan for either.

In Seoul, Busan, Gyeongju and on Jeju the difference is trivia. MSIT's official 2025 evaluation put the national 5G average at 974 Mbps and the rural average at 617 Mbps. The one place all three carriers struggle is high-speed rail: 393 Mbps on the KTX with only 81 per cent of rail measurements meeting the HD-streaming bar, and 19 of 32 weak-5G zones on rail sections. The free 100MB matters more for Jeju than anywhere else

GigSky gives away 100MB, valid for seven days, no card, no subscription that starts behind your back. Nobody else on this site does.

Here is why that is specifically useful in Korea. Since the end of June 2026 Jeju International Airport has had no carrier counters at all. SK Telecom closed its Jeju roaming center at the end of June; KT's had been gone since 2018. Every guide that tells you to pick up a SIM when you land on Jeju was right in 2025 and is wrong now. If you fly Seoul to Jeju with nothing installed and your main eSIM misbehaves, there is no desk to walk to.

So install the free GigSky profile at home, on wifi, before you leave the US. It sits on the phone as a spare line costing nothing. If your paid eSIM fails at Jeju, or you simply run out on the last night in Seogwipo, you have 100MB of maps and messages while you sort it out. Naver Map runs at roughly 5 to 12 MB an hour, so 100MB is an afternoon of navigation, not a rounding error.

Read the 10GB row twice. GigSky is the cheapest 10GB we can link, and it is still $3.79 more than Ubigi's $14. We put that in the table because a comparison that hides the brand that beats us is not a comparison. GigSky's honest case at 10GB is that it costs $1.21 less than Airalo, lists two networks on 5G, and gives you a free trial first.

Below 10GB, GigSky's case is simpler: it is the cheapest at 1GB and 3GB against everyone we link, and only Ubigi's $7 for 3GB undercuts it. On unlimited it now wins outright at every length: $16.49 for a week, $8.51 under Ubigi and $10.50 under Saily; $29.99 for fifteen days, $19 under Saily and Airalo; $43.49 for thirty, $25 to $28.50 under Yesim, Airalo and Saily. The catch is the cap: 3.5GB a day, against Saily's 5GB. Above 10GB in a fixed bucket, GigSky has nothing.

1. Buy on GigSky's website at home on wifi. Confirm the app or site is showing USD before you compare against the table above; the prices here are what a US account sees as of 2026.
2. Take the free 100MB first and keep it. Install it as a separate line. It costs nothing, expires on its own after seven days from activation, and it is your spare if anything goes wrong on Jeju, where there is no longer a counter to rescue you.
3. Install the paid profile before you fly. The clock does not start until the eSIM connects in Korea, so there is no reason to do this at the gate and every reason to do it on your sofa.
4. On landing at Incheon: GigSky line on for data, US line on for calls and texts with data roaming off. Korean carriers appear on the phone as SKT, KT or LG U+ in Latin letters; with GigSky expect SKT or KT.
